No prior MDS experience is required. This program is designed for RNs and LPNs who are new to MDS as well as nurses seeking deeper RAI/MDS knowledge.
Move from foundational RAI/MDS knowledge into clinical coding, reimbursement, quality, compliance, and applied mastery—with support that continues after the live classroom experience.
Learn how to schedule and sequence assessments, set ARDs, conduct resident interviews, apply coding principles, and work through the full resident assessment process with greater confidence.
Connect documentation and coding to Medicare, PDPM, Section GG, ICD-10/NTA decisions, and reimbursement—so the clinical picture and financial impact make sense together.
Bring the process together through quality measures, case mix, individualized care planning, submissions, survey readiness, and applied coding decisions. By the end of the program, you will have completed 3 full case-based MDS assessments using realistic resident scenarios—from scheduling and interviews through MDS completion and personalized care planning. Career preparation includes common MDS nurse interview questions, what employers may look for in a nurse entering the MDS role, and how to confidently discuss your RAI/MDS training when pursuing your first MDS position.

No. This live RAI/MDS training is designed for RNs and LPNs who are new to MDS, as well as nurses and nursing leaders who want stronger RAI/MDS skills.
The program is designed for RNs and LPNs interested in transitioning into MDS and clinical reimbursement roles, including bedside nurses, MDS nurses, DONs, and ADONs.
The training covers the RAI process, MDS assessment and coding, resident interviews, scheduling, care planning, Medicare and PDPM concepts, quality measures, case studies, and practical preparation for working in an MDS role.
Yes. We will review common MDS nurse interview questions and help you understand how to discuss your clinical experience when pursuing an MDS position.
The Michigan live intensive is November 20-22, 2026, from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM at Vistatech Center at Schoolcraft College, in Livonia, Michigan.
Registration includes three full days of live, interactive instruction, training materials, an Elite workbook, four weekly live virtual mastery sessions after the 3-day live program, and 60-day access to the supporting online video content. Live Virtual students attend the same instructor-led program online, and their Elite MDS Academy training materials are mailed after paid registration is confirmed.
Yes. You may pay $1,195 in full or choose three monthly payments of $450 ($1,350 total).
Approved for 20.0 nursing contact hours. ONA approval is valid November 9, 2026 through November 9, 2028.
Registration is non-refundable. The Seat-Repeat Guarantee allows an eligible participant to return once to a future live class at no additional tuition if a seat is available.
Training materials are included. You may bring a laptop or tablet if you prefer, but it is not required for the live instruction.
Free parking is available. Grab-and-go sandwiches, snacks, coffee, water and other beverages are available for purchase at Henry’s Cafe, conveniently located inside the Vistatech Center. A scheduled lunch break will be provided each day.
